Chinese Quince (木瓜)

Tree hight 18cm, 28 years old
I bought this tree from a bonsai shop 6 years ago.

Bonsai require patience, awareance, consideration and creativity.
Never get good resut from works without intention and imagination for future shape of tree.
An saying, "Just a second to cut branch, but at least a year to get a branch" is well-known.

Azalea

Tree hight 24cm, 5 years old
I obtained this Azalea tree a  bonsai farm last winter.
I plan to reduce its hight and change pot when transplantting this spring.

Serissa

Tree Hight 16cm, 26 years old
I found this Serissa tree in Tokyo Japan 6 years ago and brought it to my house.

Serissa are much loved as bonsai for their tiny flowers which may occur 2-3 times yearly, gnarled trunks, and naturally miniature leaves.

Zelkova (榉树)

Tree hight 17cm, 25 years old
I visited Kyoto Japan for attending Japanese minibonsai exhibition 4 years ago and
I got this Zelkova in bonsai market opened in the exhibition.

Zelkova is  a deciduous tree well suited for most bonsai techniques and it is by far the best tree for bonsai.  Its fine branch charm is extremely attractive, especially in the winter when the branches are bare of leaves.
During the growing season, it is important to pinch new shoots and trim the leaves to enhance
the style of the tree.  If it doesn't pinch and trim in time and let new branch grow fully, it will lose fine charm/ growing balance and it will be ruined very quickly.
Zelkova requires a great deal of subtle precision to achieve good results.

Cypress

Tree hight 8cm,  8 years old
I received this tiny cypress tree as a gift from my bonsai friend 5 years ago.
I replanted it in current pot that time and it grew up healthy in this tiny ceramic pot until now
without any change.
It's still small but now it show some mature shape as a miniature of forest cypress.
